2. Vary the value and intensity of your colors: You need variation to create contrast and balance. Remember you need dull colors to make bright colors look bright.

3. Paint an under-painting - It helps get rid of the white canvas and it can unify your painting. It can be any color and doesn't have to match your painting. Sometimes it's better if it doesn't.

5. Paint from back to front: Painting your background first and then sketching will make things much easier.
6. If you don't like it, let it dry and paint over it. |
